Dunlop Heywood’s Stuart Hicks receives RICS Rating Diploma

Stuart Hicks, Manchester Office, Director - Dunlop HeywoodDunlop Heywood Director Stuart Hicks has been awarded the RICS’ Rating Diploma after successfully completing an intensive two-year course.

Stuart will be presented with his Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Rating Diploma at the Rating Diploma Holders’ Section’s AGM in November.

The RICS’ Rating Diploma has long been recognised as the gold standard of measuring the expertise and overall capability of rating surveyors; with only a select few successfully completing the gruelling course and final interview process. As well as displaying an incredible depth of overall rating knowledge, successful graduates are also grilled and must pass modules that include law, case history and rating practice.

Said Stuart: “It is undoubtedly one of the hardest courses I have ever had to undertake but incredibly rewarding to come out with the Diploma at the end of it. The level of understanding you have to demonstrate consistently over two years was incredible but I have already found that the knowledge I have gained is already coming into play in my every day working practices. It really has been worth all the effort.”

The history of the Diploma stretches back almost 100 years, having being first awarded in 1922. Surveyors who gain the Diploma are entitled to the additional designatory letters Dip. Rating after their name. Only a handful of current rating practitioners outside of the Inland Revenue have gained the qualification.
