Dunlop Heywood secures significant victory with 75% RV reduction for hospitality client

The Valuation Tribunal has ruled in favour of Dunlop Heywood and its hospitality client Voodoo Doll Ltd following an appeal over the valuation method used on the Mojo bar and restaurant in Manchester.

Dunlop Heywood’s Director Adam Brooke successfully appealed against the 2017 Rating List on behalf of the client which saw its Back Bridge Street property listed with a Rateable Value (RV) of £168,000. Following submissions disputing the FMT valuation method used, Dunlop Heywood proposed a revised Rateable Value based on the correct valuation basis to apply.

The panel agreed and the RV was reduced to £44,750 – a 74.4 per cent reduction.
