Biography
Demetri is a Chartered Surveyor with over 12 years’ experience specialising in non-domestic rating and the valuation of complex and specialist property types.
He advises on some of the most technically demanding classes of property across the UK, with particular expertise in infrastructure and specialist valuations, including airports, ports, nuclear facilities and refineries, together with receipts and expenditure valuations for assets such as arenas, stadiums and other leisure and trading properties. He also has extensive experience valuing specialist properties including crematoria and other sui generis hereditaments.
Demetri regularly advises ratepayers on the accuracy of rateable values, valuation methodology and business rates liabilities, acting on complex assessments where conventional rental evidence is limited or unavailable. His work includes negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency and other relevant bodies across the UK and Republic of Ireland, together with the preparation and progression of rating appeals.
He combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, commercial approach, enabling clients to navigate the rating system effectively and achieve fair and sustainable outcomes.
